Watson Farm Self-Guided Tours, August 30, 2025 6:00PM

Event Summary

From June 5, 2025 to October 11, 2025
Watson Farm Self-guided Tours

Tickets for a self-guided walking tour of Watson Farm where visitors can explore farm fields with grazing livestock, stroll along the shore, and view seasonal farm activities. For millennia, Indigenous people lived well on Conanicut Island, using controlled burning to clear the land for hunting and cultivation. European colonizers sought the resulting grasslands for their animals. After 1657, the land was owned by three governors and worked by enslaved people and tenant farmers. In 1789, Job Watson purchased the farm that would be passed down through five generations. Today, this 265-acre working farm is managed using innovative, sustainable practices that continue the tradition of pastoral husbandry. We recommend planning at least 90 minutes for your visit. Please check in with a guide in the barn before starting your hike. Return to Watson Farm info page.

Members tour free. Log in or Join now to have your discount applied at checkout.
