Title

People of Color in Haverhill’s History

Description

Wednesday, February 27, 7:00 p.m.

COCO Brown, 293 Washington Street, Haverhill, Mass.

Missing from the many formal histories of Haverhill, Massachusetts, are the stories, accomplishments, and contributions of people of color. Join us as we travel through Haverhill’s history and learn more about those left out of the history books, including Peter Chase, an enslaved man living in Rocks Village; William Mobley, a well-known businessman and nationally renowned dog breeder; and William Rivera, a successful business owner.

Developed in conjunction with POSE (Power of Self Education) as part of their Black History Month event series.
