Virtual Program - Myth and Memory: Curator's Preview

Description

Thursday, April 9, 7:00 p.m.

Myth and Memory: Stories of the American Revolution brings together material from Historic New England’s vast permanent collection of objects and archival materials to explore the multifaceted history of the American Revolution as it played out in New England. These objects tell the stories of everyday people whose lives were linked by the shared experience of revolution. Myth and Memory spotlights the deeply personal experiences of individuals, families, and communities caught up in extraordinary circumstances, organized around the themes of Resistance, Loyalty, Liberty, and Memory.

Join Myth and Memory curator, Erica Lome to get a special look before the exhibition opens to the public on Friday, May 15.

Erica Lome is Curator of Collections at Historic New England. Before coming to Historic New England, she was Curatorial Associate at the Concord Museum in Concord, Massachusetts. Erica received her PhD from the American Civilization Program at the University of Delaware and her MA from the Bard Graduate Center in New York City. She specializes in American decorative arts and furniture, with a particular interest in things made, owned, and used in New England.
