The Importance of Being Furnished: Member Tour of Gibson House Museum
Thursday, October 17, 3:00 p.m.
Gibson House Museum, 137 Beacon St., Boston, Mass
Historic New England members have the opportunity to tour Gibson House Museum to learn more about the life of Charles Hammond Gibson Jr., one of the four bachelors featured in our current exhibition on view at the Eustis Estate, The Importance of Being Furnished: Four Bachelors at Home.
The Gibson House Museum is preserved as such because of Charles Hammond Gibson Jr.'s foresight to leave this Beacon Street home as his legacy and an example of Victorian-era design. Members will learn about the Gibson family during this tour and be inspired to consider issues of class and culture through the stories and objects of the people who lived and worked there.
This event is for Historic New England members. Log in or join now and then refresh this page to register for this special program.
Viewing The Importance of Being Furnished exhibition prior to this event is encouraged, but not required. Space is limited.
Please visit the Gibson House Museum's website for information on visitor guidelines and directions.
