Sundays in the Garden Concert Series: La Madeleine

Description

Sunday, July 14, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Hamilton House, 40 Vaughan’s Lane, South Berwick, Maine

Join us for a special Bastille Day Concert with special guests La Madeleine. Preforming the songs of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Georges Moustaki, Gilles Vigneault and a variety of other French and French Canadian artists, La Madeleine mixes these classic French folk songs and ballads a mix of accordion and fiddle-driven Celtic instrumentals. The incomparable Madeleine St. Amant sings with an unaffected warmth and passion that get right to the heart of these timeless songs. She is accompanied by the Chip Harding on guitar, Carl Pehrsson on accordion, and Emily Barbour on fiddle. This talented and dynamic quartet will wow listeners as they effortlessly transition from a classic French Canadian ballad to a quick, foot stomping, Celtic folk song, that radiates energy through the audience.

The lush gardens of Hamilton House, overlooking the Salmon Falls River, provide a gorgeous, natural setting for live music. Please bring a blanket and beach chairs for your comfort.
