Virtual Program - Providence Printmakers and their Influence
Wednesday, February 12, 7:00 p.m.
In the early twentieth century Providence, Rhode Island was one of many centers of interest in the revival of printmaking. Five printmakers in particular played an integral part in this movement. This lecture will explore the ways these artists, all associated with the Rhode Island School of Design, made important contributions to their respective techniques of color woodblock, etching, wood engraving and linocut.
Join Nancy Whipple Grinnell, Curator Emerita of the Newport Art Museum and Chair of the Collections Committee at the Providence Art Club to hear about the influence of Eliza Draper Gardiner, William H. Drury, Arthur W. Heintzelman, Grace Arnold Albee, and Wilmer Jennings.
