Join us for Collecting Perspectives, captivating conversations on the stories and connections behind Historic New England Collections at the Haverhill Center: tonight, the Nina Heald Webber Cape Cod Canal Collection.

Historic New England Senior Curator of Library and Archives Lorna Condon joins Marilyn Keith Daly, project manager for the Haverhill Center, and guests,, urban planner, historian, and author of Becoming Cape Cod James C. O’Connell PhD; artist and art historian Justin Kedl and photographer Lara Woolfson, for a spontaneous conversation about this expansive collection and how collections inform and inspire. 

This online talk will be live streamed from the Haverhill Center.

James C. O'Connell has worked as a Community Planner at the Boston Office of the Northeast Region of the National Park Service, where he specialized in planning for historic sites and heritage areas. Previously, Jim served as Economic Development Officer of the Cape Cod Commission, the regional planning and land use regulatory agency for Cape Cod. He is author of six books and many articles on planning and New England history, including Becoming Cape Cod: Creating a Seaside Resort.

Justin Kedl holds a BA in sculpture and graphic design from Gordon College and an MA in modern and contemporary art history, theory, and criticism from Azusa Pacific University. His scholarship has been featured in MDPI’s Arts journal and was used to create public programming at Historic New England’s Gropius House. His artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally. 

Lara Woolfson studied photography at California State University and received her MFA in Visual Art from the College of Art and Design at Lesley University. She founded Studio Nouveau in 2007. Her work has been exhibited in Bromfield Gallery, Gallery 808, and the Museum of Art at University of New Hampshire and published in Conde Naste, Huffington Post, and Boston Magazine, to name a few.
