Homeschool Program: New Beginnings: Spring at Casey Farm
Thursday, April 25, 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Casey Farm, 2325 Boston Neck Road, Saunderstown, R.I.
Spring on Casey Farm means planting season and new baby animals! Come meet our fluffy ducklings and feisty baby turkeys, brush our friendly piglets, gather eggs from the hen houses and hold our newly hatched chicks. Participants will identify and gather plants to feed to the bunnies, then grind whole corn to feed the chickens. In addition, children will discover the importance of soil through a visit to the Education Garden to taste and water the herbs, plant a row of peas, and even search for and collect worms for the farm’s worm bins. Make sure to dress to get dirty!
