Name

Lady Windermere's Fan by Oscar Wilde, presented by Theater in the Open

Description

Saturday, August 26, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Hamilton House, 40 Vaughan’s Lane, South Berwick, Maine

Lady Windermere’s Fan is a masterful examination of reputation, love, and deceit. Lady Windermere suspects her husband of infidelity—in trying to discover the truth, more secrets are revealed. Wilde’s play is bitingly funny, tenderly kind, and teaches us that “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”

The outdoor production is directed by Yale School of Drama alumn, Rory Pelsue and features Aisha Delilah (Lady Windermere), Paul-Emile Cendron (Lord Windermere), Nikole Beckwith (Lord Darlington), Cara Olansky (Mrs. Erlynne) and Edward F. Speck, Allegra Dubus-Brandolini, Adrianna Neefus, Holly Little Van Straaten, Lia Madeline, Dylan C. Wack, and Bonniejean Wilbur.

Tickets $20.

Bring a beach chair, blanket, and a picnic for your enjoyment!

Please call 207-384-2454 for more information.

Theater in the Open is dedicated to creating, sharing and supporting live theater and high-quality youth arts education that is inclusive and accessible to all regardless of ability, identity, age or socio-economic background. Our programs take place outdoors in nature and in non-traditional spaces as a means to breaking down walls and increasing participation. We believe the stories that challenge and engage both artists and audiences deserve to be told with a spirit of generosity and community.

Accessibility Considerations: This is an outdoor performance on the grounds of Hamilton House, which is accessed by gravel paths, lawn, granite steps, and some uneven terrain. We are happy to work with you to make your visit an enjoyable one and we encourage visitors with questions or requests to call ahead.
