A Virtual Tour of Roseland Cottage

Description

Wednesday, April 26, 6:00 p.m.

Join us for a free virtual tour of National Historic Landmark Roseland Cottage to experience Historic New England like a member.

Known for its “brilliant crushed strawberry” exterior, Roseland Cottage has an equally intriguing interior, featuring elaborate wall coverings, heavily patterned carpets, and stained glass, much of which survives unchanged from the Victorian era when it was the beloved summer retreat for Lucy and Henry Bowen and family. The Bowens entertained friends and political connections, including four U.S. presidents at Roseland Cottage. Laurie Masciandaro, site manager of the cottage, will introduce the family and guide you through this Woodstock, Connecticut, treasure which includes the nation's oldest surviving bowling alley.

Usually reserved for Historic New England members, we are making this virtual tour available to all. When you register for this event and become a Historic New England member, you’ll receive three extra months of membership!  Available to new or rejoining members. Not to be combined with other offers.

Historic New England membership supports our mission to tell the full New England story while unlocking opportunities to experience history in new and exciting ways. We hope you’ll join today to access free tours of our thirty-eight beautiful historic sites, discounts on events throughout the year, members-only collections tours, and so much more!

Tickets are free; donations are encouraged.

Become a member today to discover more of New England history with special access benefits.
