"Birds Sing for Us All:" A Night of Arabic Music

Join Historic New England and the Center for Arabic Culture (CAC) for a celebration of Arab American Heritage month! The CAC presents a night of Arabic music in the historic Lyman Estate ballroom. Instruments such as the oud and tabla drums and the Arabic quarter tone tuning system give Arabic music a sound and complexity distinct from classic European music. The CAC Children's Choir and Youth Orchestra perform Arabic music, ranging from the traditional to the contemporary, accompanied by the award winning Takht Ensemble. The evening ends with the Takht Ensemble, a group of five musicians performing as a chamber orchestra on violin, cello, oud, drums, and piano.
