Sheep Shearing and Opening Day of Vintage Base Ball

Take a step back in time and enjoy a spring day on the farm. Watch a live sheep shearing demonstration at 11 a.m., and then cheer on the Lowell Nine vs. the Newburyport Clamdiggers at noon.
The four teams of the Essex Base Ball Association (the Newburyport Clamdiggers, Lowell Base Ball Club, Portsmouth Rockinghams, and the Lynn Live Oaks) play using 1860s rules. At these fun, historically accurate games, gloves are not allowed, players pitch underhand, and a ball bounced once and caught is an out.
Grass field seating; bring blankets and lawn chairs. No reserved seating; end times are approximate. Game is weather permitting.
