Dirt Detectives Virtual Program

Description

Students learn what it takes to be an archaeologist as they participate in work at a mock dig site. They will learn how to use primary source documents to identify the best place to dig, how to clear away soil and unearth objects, and what types of materials they are most likely to find. As the program progresses, they will realize that digging is just one part of an archaeologist’s job, and that processing, identifying, and researching the significance of objects to the site are also critically important. Recommended for students from third grade through high school.

This program includes links 2 two videos (55 minutes of content total), a .pdf file with images and discussion questions, and one 45 minute live virtual class. You may also purchase just the links and .pdf for a reduced fee, or add more live classes for an additional fee.

Please note: You may purchase up to three additional sessions. If your school has more than 4 classes participating in the program, please purchase another full program and as many additional sessions as needed.

You will receive the video links and .pdf within two business days after purchase. In addition, our education staff will contact you to schedule your live session(s).
